The Magical Kite

Once there was a boy named Billu and a sage named Vashisht. Sage Vashisht was a very kind hearted and loving person. One day, he heard Billu crying out and asked “Why are you crying, my child? You should be flying a kite on this day”.

Billu replied sadly “My friend Motu has torn my kite and thrown it away. So,I don’t have a kite to fly”. The sage called him inside a cave.

Billu got scared and held the sage’s hand. They walked into the cave and Billu saw many kites, mats, brooms and other kinds of magical things. The sage went to a kite and gave it to Billu and said “This is a magical kite, it can never break. But, if you are rude to anyone or tease them, nobody will be your friend and the kite will fly back to me. You will never be able to take it.”

So, Billu said “Alright. Thank you Sage Vashisht” and left. When he reached the village he saw his friend Motu and ran to him. Billu asked “Shall we have a competition? Whoever will cut the other persons kite first will win the competition”  Motu did not answer . So, Billu said ” Are you scared or what ?”

Motu got angry and said “Okay then. Lets start”. The competition began. At first, every one thought that Motu will win but, then Motu’s kite fell down. And the winner was Billu!!!

Then Billu started teasing “la la la la la …you could not beat me.”  Suddenly, the kite flew from Billu’s hand into the cave where the sage lived . The  sage realised that Billu was rude and from then on, nobody was Billu’s friend.
